Born in Guwahati and passed HSLC examination in the year 1982 from T.C. Girls School, Guwahati. Completed graduation in 1987 in Science Stream from Handique Girls College, Guwahati. Completed Masters in Zoology and LLB in the same year i.e., 1992. After enrolment in the Bar, started practicing mainly in Civil Court in District Judges Court campus. Joined in the Judicial Service in March 1998. Promoted to Grade I in December 2012. Serving as District & Sessions Judge, Kamrup (M) till elevation. Elevated to Additional Judge, Gauhati High Court on 16.08.2022.
